The PTI leadership revealed plans on Tuesday to establish federal and Punjab provincial governments through coalitions with independent candidates, including the minority party Majlis-e-Wahdat-Muslimeen (MWM).

The party also disclosed that its candidates in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province would collaborate with Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), another religious party, to establish a government.

The PTI leadership revealed plans on Tuesday to establish federal and Punjab provincial governments through coalitions with independent candidates, including the minority party Majlis-e-Wahdat-Muslimeen (MWM).

Thursday’s elections yielded a fragmented mandate, with no single party clinching a majority in the National Assembly. Independent candidates affiliated with PTI, led by imprisoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan, secured the highest number of seats. However, to establish a government, they still require affiliation with a political party or coalition.

In the announcement of the coalition strategy on Tuesday, PTI spokesperson Raoof Hasan stated that he was authorized by Khan to engage with all political parties except the “PPP, PMLN, and MQM” (Muttahida Qaumi Movement).

“Imran Khan firmly asserts that the formation of a government is the right of those who emerged victorious in the elections,” Hasan declared during a press conference in Islamabad.

Khan has consistently asserted his refusal to interact with the PMLN led by three-time former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif or the PPP led by former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, labeling them as "corrupt"
